Five priorities that the Provincial Indigenous Youth & Family Circle (PIYFAC) identified for YWHO sites to actively work towards:
Ensuring all hubs access cultural awareness and trauma-informed care training that is Indigenous-specific
Collaborating with Indigenous organizations across Ontario to address the need for wrap-around services for Indigenous youth in culturally grounded supports
Providing youth-centered supports such as access to traditional medicines and Indigenous-specific crisis supports
Broadening the understanding of the circle of care (for example, recognizing and establishing support from Elders, Aunties, and Uncles as part of the circle of care)
Increasing Indigenous representation among YWHO staff.
